According to a survey done by a UK media outlet, Guwahati is among the 100 fastest growing cities of the world, and is the 5th fastest growing among Indian cities. Many ancient Hindu temples are in the city, giving it the name "City of Temples". Guwahati is also the main center for shopping and business, attracting people from all over the north east as well as from Eastern Bhutan.
